My Study Abroad Experience

Hey heyyy!!! Two summers ago I got to study abroad in Azores, Portugal. It was a photography class and it was one of the best experiences.

The class was 12 days long and there was around 15 of us. I didn’t know anyone in the class before the trip which was definitely scary but so worth it. We got to do such cool things like long hikes, water cave tour, an underground cave tour, walk around the cities, see volcanoes, hot spots and meet cows.

I can’t describe the amount of things we packed in to 12 days it was so so amazing.

The two teachers that brought us were so great. I felt so safe the entire time in their presence and the islands felt very safe as well.

Everyone on the trip got to pick a theme and capture images for it that we would later edit for a photo exhibit held on campus. Besides for the amazing scenes, one of the best parts was meeting so many people my age from Portugal.

I still talk to them today and I think that is super special.

If you are thinking about studying abroad, DO IT. I can’t describe how much I recommend it. It was such a great experience to meet other people, step outside of my comfort zone and see all these cool things while gaining new experiences.
